Show Jumping & Eventing

Horses have been a part of my life from when I can remember. I had the privilege of growing up in Fiji where I was part of the local Pony Club, on weekends we gave the horses some downtime where we took them to the beach and swam with them. I wouldn’t dare do that with my horses, don’t think I would come out the other side! From Fiji I relocated (with family) to Dublin where I had riding lessons at the local rinding centre. Then onto relocating to Buckinghamshire (with family) where I had riding lessons at the local riding centre. I then ended up finishing a local livery competition yard where I worked for lessons (back in the day when Health and Safety didn’t exist) From here I went on to start my career with horses and studied equine studies at Moreton Morrell College. I had the privilege of meeting someone who worked with The Fletchers (Show Jumpers) I went on to work for the Fletchers for a few years. Learning an immense amount in regards to competition and grooming. Grooming at HOYS and Blenheim. From here I went on to gain my BHS stages and teaching at Millfield Equestrian Centre, where I was part of the Teaching Staff. I gained an incredible amount of knowledge and skills here and learnt from the best in the industry, who is now a Fellow of the BHS. Millfield took me on a journey to branch out and make my career my own where I worked for a Lord and Lady teaching their children and grooming. I then went onto use my skills and groom and ride for amateur eventers in Gloucestershire. This was a great experience, however from here due to personal circumstances I decided to put horses on the back burner and concentrate on my future. I now have my horses as a hobby and enjoy every moment I spend with her. I am so very excited about being part of the EDRC and to represent and support all of our members.

Dressage

Having spent the last 10 years doing all things pony club with her daughter Vanessa is now free to indulge her own love of dressage. She loves Connemara ponies of which she owns 2. Billie is 21 and taking things a bit easier now Syd who she has owned for a year now has taken up the reins! Since joining East Dorset RC 2 years ago she has qualified for Nationals 3 times and is taking the EDRC Demons Quest team to Regionals for the 2nd year running.
